I’m Araka (pronounced like Erica!), a traveling photographer in Georgia, based in Augusta with frequent excursions to my hometown of Pennsylvania. In essence, I’m a destination photographer with industry connections across the east coast and southern states.

The Beginnings
In retrospect, love and art were always anchors of my life — it just took military service, motherhood, and European getaways to truly reveal that fact to me.
It started in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA where I romanticized the idea of a career in fashion design. I spent my days sketching wedding gowns and felt a pull towards everything in the wedding industry. Though through life’s twists and turns that wasn’t my path, I realize that I still get to bring design into my life, just not with a thread and needle. I plan engagement sessions, style editorials, and curate photography galleries.
I was in the Air Force for 8 years as a translator. War broke me and photography was the only thing that restored my love of life and goodness. When I look at couples like you and see the love you have for one another, I experience firsthand what is good in the world. It’s everything I could ask for. I enjoy supporting you and your love story while soaking up the reminder that humanity is good.
